Just wondering if I can use a non AGM battery to the car?

I need a new battery and I’m working abroad for 2 months. I don’t want to spend £130 and then have a diff battery while I’ve been abroad.  I’ve read that AGM batteries need to be kept on charge. I could take the battery out and leave it on a maintenance charge?

I don’t think I can code a non AGM battery? I know I can change the charging settings on the car.

Thanks.

I am puzzled. Why would you want a different battery when taking the car abroad?

As for "I’ve read that AGM batteries need to be kept on charge." that is absolute nonsense. You treat an AGM battery the same as any other car battery.
