Barney2002 Posted March 22 Posted March 22 Hello all, I have a 65 plate q3 Quattro s line, had it a few months now. The suspension is now starting to really bother me and I’m now starting to wonder if it’s normal or not? Upshot is, it’s a LOT softer than I would expect, given it’s meant to be the “firm” suspension, generally quite wallowy in corners, bouncy on uneven roads and is rather “barge” like. Is this normal? Driving in dynamic and sport mode helps with the slow throttle response but seems to have no affect on suspension or ride. Any thoughts? It’s my first Audi so wanted to check!
cliffcoggin Posted March 22 Posted March 22 How soft is soft? Ones man's soft will be another man's firm. The matter is so subjective that the only sensible thing to do is try an identical car as a comparison.
Barney2002 Posted March 22 Author Posted March 22 Soft in comparison to pretty much all other cars I’ve had, one of which to be fair was a BMW, but also a Giulietta, Mito, Mercedes CLC and a Mercedes C Class estate.
cliffcoggin Posted March 22 Posted March 22 If you believe the suspension is defective, get it tested. If the test proves it to be normal then you have chosen the wrong car and need to either upgrade the suspension or buy another car.
Barney2002 Posted March 22 Author Posted March 22 Thanks. I was just wondering what others’ experiences were, as I had read in reviews (eg Parker’s, what car etc) that the ride was firm.
Barney2002 Posted March 22 Author Posted March 22 Typer pressures are good as just did these. Tyres are a good question though, the garage added these when I got it, they may well need changing for better ones
Magnet Posted March 23 Posted March 23 Sian, Can you please answer the questions and now include brands
Barney2002 Posted March 23 Author Posted March 23 Hello, sorry I’ve been in and out today. I’m taking it to get fully checked over on Friday, hopefully that will answer my questions
Magnet Posted March 24 Posted March 24 No problem at all, but any reason why you are not letting the forum have answers to the tyre questions? Such detail maybe significant. Anyway, whether we get the answers or not, the important part will be to hear the feedback from the inspection on Friday.
