Hi all,

I've had an a3 1.0 litre petrol tfsi sportback for 15 months now with no issues.

The other week I found the key fob suddenly not unlocking the car. After trying a few things I had to eventually remove the key blade from the fob and manually open the driver's door.  Once this action is done the fob (and the spare) would suddenly start working again ( but would only last for a minute or two).

I changed both fob keys and even changed the car battery, but neither solved the issue.

Booked car into reliable auto electrician who also couldn't fix it and reluctantly suggested it's probably a dealer fix.

Now booked into my local audi ( for a month's time!)

Just wondered if anyone else has had this problem?

Thanks in advance

Hi guys,

Had my  70 plate a3 for 15 months now with no issues but 2 weeks ago I found I couldnt open drivers door via key fob.

Had to manually open drivers door

( which would then make the two fobs start working again!)..... But only for a minute or two then back to the same issue?

Had my auto spark guy look at it but he reckons it's a main dealer issue... Any ideas

Ps... I changed both fob batteries and cars 12v battery but made no difference.

I think it could be the door module. But a diagnostic check will show up fault codes

Yeah I thought that but had diagnostic done and even though any faults were cleared I still got same issue.

Got it booked into audi next month but still trying to solve issue beforehand.
