Steve316 Posted Saturday at 02:03 PM Posted Saturday at 02:03 PM Help?? So have owned for 2 years and for first 18 months all good but then the AC stopped working. The fan works but not the AC...except for when the temperature is 2 degree or below, when it is that temperature the light comes on and all seems rock n roll, but as soon as is 3 or 4 degrees upwards the AC light drops off. The trigger for the AC not working was a 30 second foot down on a dual carriage way when I was pushing it hard, I then parked up and the next day no AC. I originally put in the Audi workshop and they said they thought new compressor circa £8k...roof off, engine out, gearbox out etc.... Since then I noticed the temperature effects the AC light coming on, I would rather the car be stolen than payout £8k for AC to be fixed 😞 If the AC is working with the temperature low would that not mean the compressor is indeed working and it would be more to do with a temperature/pressure switch issue? Any help with guidance would be amazing, I don't fully believe the diagnosis of the compressor because of this and if this does seem the likely-hood does anyone know someone who is an expert on this as they are more likely to require a lot less labour opposed to an Audi tech doing this once every couple of years or so. Many thanks to anyone who can help!! Steve
cliffcoggin Posted Saturday at 03:19 PM Posted Saturday at 03:19 PM I agree with your logic that a temperature sensor fault is the likely cause of the problem, probably the ambient or external sensor. Unfortunately I have no idea where it is. 1
