steveRS5 Posted March 29 Posted March 29 Hi guys I'm new to this club, 60 yrs old & not great on sites like these finding old info.Just recently bought a 2017 RS5 which is a beauty. What are you guys out there thoughts on 1st stage map on these cars please, is it worth it, I know its quick now.it has full audi servicing & has covered approx 58000 miles. Any help would be appreciated, I'm sure this has been covered a thousand times but I'm not good on searching for this info
Steve Q Posted March 30 Posted March 30 Have a look at Celtic tuning website a s it'll show you the potential gains. Makes sure you use a reputable company that'll do the remap on a rolling road
steveRS5 Posted March 30 Author Posted March 30 Hi, thanks for that. I'm just a bit concerned on the reliability after having a remap & whether the car is built to accept more power then it was designed with from standard?
cliffcoggin Posted March 30 Posted March 30 Nothing in life is free Steve, least of all engine power. Extracting more power will mean increased wear that will lead to lower reliability. It's a trade off that only you can decide its worth for your circumstances and wealth.
steveRS5 Posted March 30 Author Posted March 30 Thanks for that Cliff. I feel its probably best left alone, I find it's rapid as it is & it would be a shame to do damage to a perfectly good engine. 1
kenmor Posted April 11 Posted April 11 Hi steve I had a racechip plug and play tuning box on a bmw 440i and when I changed car to my rs5 I got one almost free reprogram (p&p) I have now had it fitted for a couple of weeks now and the figures quoted are +60bhp plus lower fuel consumption but the car is so rapid that the 0.2/0.3 sec quicker to 62mph is almost impossible to tell, the one thing I can tell you is my insurance has risen £350/year, what Im saying for me personally I dont think I would bother if I had to go and buy a new one at £700+. 1
steveRS5 Posted April 11 Author Posted April 11 Hi Kenmor, thanks for that, yes I think I'm going to leave it stock, more than quick enough as it is & maintain the reliability Audi designed it with Thanks for the reply 1
DAN@ADRIAN FLUX Posted Monday at 06:57 PM Posted Monday at 06:57 PM Hi. If you need any help with insurance at all for a remap then please feel free to drop me a line, Regards, Dan.
steveRS5 Posted Wednesday at 04:46 PM Author Posted Wednesday at 04:46 PM Hi Dan, Thanks for that. The best offer I got standard was Aviva just below 1K with most of the bits & pieces. Haven't checked for a remap at the moment but would be interesting to know what the difference would be Kind Regards Steve
