Is it worth having the heater matrix checked? And a compression test to see if head gasket is failing?

My 2013 a3 over heated changed pump thermostat and sensors ran car for 2 hours with aircon on it didn’t overheat when I cleared codes it started to overheat and fans cut in straight away
