GR-S5 Posted Tuesday at 07:15 PM Posted Tuesday at 07:15 PM Hello I have had some issues with the braking system on 2017 Audi S5 Currently the ABS ECU has been sent away for repair now 3rd week without the car. My question is can I find out if these faults, specifically the brake servo one could of been cleared by the car dealer I bought the car from, and is there a way to check this using a specific diagnostic tool? thanks hopefully G
spartacus 68 Posted Tuesday at 10:29 PM Posted Tuesday at 10:29 PM Not sure if you can find a smoking gun so-to-speak. VCDS scan would be diagnostic tool of choice, and if error was previously logged but DTCs were not cleared, then that historic data will be there, including instances. I think that’s remote, but never say never. I assume this is brake servo pressure sensor error? Audi onboard computer says keep driving but seek service centre. Reality is that damages ABS as you’ve found out. Other avenues, speak to Audi to see if fault was previously logged with them on digital history. For VCDS to purchase, check out RossTech via Gendan. More details here on issue via Dave Sterl. 1
GR-S5 Posted Thursday at 05:17 PM Author Posted Thursday at 05:17 PM Ahh, indeed exactly what occurred. You tube it great to find out these things but in this case its not something youd search for when the car is saying all is good!! Th garage I bought the car from ultimately has paid the £727 bill for repairing the ABS ECU so all has ended well! The lovely people who fixed the car also gave me the full diagnostic report too, which was also nice. Thanks for your help, I am going to tell everyone I know about this potential money waste!! 1
