Hello everyone,

Really hoping someone can help me out here. The clutch on my Audi A4 B9 1.4 TFSI (engine code CVNA) has unfortunately failed, and I'm trying to find a replacement that isn't the manufacture part for financial reasons. I've called LUK and apparently the only kit that fits this car is the LUK 623 3824 09. I've looked everywhere on the internet and motor part traders and I cannot find it in stock anywhere. Does anyone know how to source a clutch kit for this car?

Thanks so much if anyone can help

Welcome Mathew,

LUK should be able to advise you which stockists - if any - have it in stock, and if out of stock in U.K. and Continent, when it is likely to be back in stock. Does this kit include the dual mass flywheel?
In terms of motorfactors, who have you tried?
Kind regards,

Gareth.

Your best to pop into a local motor factors. They don’t usually have websites that are much help as deal with trade customers  over the phone mainly. I got my LUK clutch kit from Dingbro but I’m based in Scotland and mine is a diesel B9. Clutch kit for mine consisted of pressure plate, clutch plate and slave cyclinder. My dual mass fly wheel was fine and that’s after 120k. Dual mass fly wheels on these cars are off a new design so they rattle when rotated or shaken as is perfectly normal.

Hi both,

Thank you for your help. There's no issue sourcing the DMF, or the slave it's purely just the clutch pressure plate & disc. I've tried calling every motor factor I know, CSF, euro car parts, auto doc, motor parts direct. I've been told for some reason sourcing this for the 1.4 tfsi is particularly difficult. No luck with anyone. I've had several conversations with LUK who have been somewhat helpful but essentially that it is out of stock and they're not sure when they will have stock again. Motor factors I've also called have told me similar. I'm surprised for an essentially 10 year old car it is proving so difficult to source an aftermarket clutch. It appears my only option is manufacture only as the car is in the garage now and I've been wasting money on taxis everyday. If anyone has any other ideas please let me know but thanks regardless.

Usually when the part is out of stock everywhere like that it’s because it’s still under license to the car manufacture. So LUK can’t not supply it to third parties or even sell it themselves.  LUK supply Audi so if Audi have stock then this will be the issue you will be having which is strange since the cars been on the market since 2017. Slave cyclinders are  the same in all b9’s are far as I’ve came across and been available thru motor factors for a couple years

Hello,

It's interesting you mention that because several garages mentioned this regarding the lisence so I thought this was the case, but when I spoke to LUK directly they said this wasn't true and that in fact the lisence had been released the clutch was just on back order. Not sure what to believe but that's what they've told me. Think either way I'm just going to have to go manufacture at this point for the clutch kit.

Thanks

If you get your slave cyclinder from Audi double check that it comes fitted with the seals, I’ve had to order them seperate for B9’s, also didnt come with the elbow that has the bleed nipple on it. the LUK slave that comes in the clutch kit comes with the seals and elbow already fitted. Il attach a picture of the fax that Audi use for the slave Incase it helps image.thumb.png.4ca05484f564b162365f9dd2a219c559.png
