Hi Guys!

This is my first post so sorry if its in the wrong place just trying to get som advice.

Ive just bought a very tidy T REG Audi A3 1.8T and when test driving it was perfect didn't miss a beat. After taking it out a few times and driving a little harder I noticed it knocks when turning left (especially noticeable on roundabouts). I've done a little research which suggest that I may need to replace the antiroll bar link? Does this sound right before it under goes the repair? Or is there anything else it may be? Its just passed the mot with flying colours. Only advisory is the rear coils. Also is there anything else I should think about replacing? Its having a service but is there anything that usually goes on A3's?

Appreciate any input.

Thanks.

Hi Guitario and welcome to the site

Sorry, I can't help with the problem.  There is a very helpful guy with the logon name "Tech" who has helped out before, but I haven't seen any posts from him for a few weeks.  Maybe he's on holiday.

How very complimentary Bald Eagle!

I was on holiday as it happens, but unfortunately not for a few weeks, just very busy!

Hi Guitario, is this problem just a single knock every time you turn left or is it a constant knocking that changes with speed?  If it is the former, the anti roll bar or anti roll bar drop links may be to blame, if it is the latter, it is more likely to be a damaged constant velocity joint.  Check for damaged CV boots (traces of grease leaked to the inside of the wheels/brake callipers).

No problem Tech, I hope you enjoyed the holiday!

Hey Guitaro, how did you get on with fixing the knocking noise?
