helljcat1 Posted October 26, 2013 Posted October 26, 2013 Hi all, hoping one of you geniuses can help.... Just recently there appears to be a jolt coming from the transmission tunnel area of my 2005 a6 4.2 quattro auto. It only happens at a certain speed and when the car has been on a long run. Its fine under acceleration, on motorway and higher speeds. It happens at approx 40 miles an hour when holding a constant speed and is very intermittent, some days nothing sometimes 4/5 times a day but only when the car has been running for an hour or so. It is quiet noticeable at the time then seems ok for a bit. Is it a sign of bad things to come??? :( Many thanks for any help!
helljcat1 Posted November 1, 2013 Author Posted November 1, 2013 Hi, managed to isolate the fault....it appears that the jolt happens when i am decelerating and the gearbox goes into 5th gear at about 40mph. If i use the manual function and go from6th to 4th at the same speed there is no problem. Any ideas???? Thanks for any help!
Audi Owners Club Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 Have you started with the easy things like getting the gearbox oil changed? It's amazing what faults this can sometime sort!
helljcat1 Posted November 1, 2013 Author Posted November 1, 2013 that is my next step with filter change, also do you know if the ecu would need updating??
