Hi All,

As the post says, I am having an "Issue" with my 2008 A6.. The passenger door will not unlock when using the double click on the keyfob. When I listen next to the door, something does click in there, so I assume that somethings just dislodged.

Will be taking the door trim off now that we have a bit of daylight at night, and will see what I can find.

Thank god for youtube for finding how to do stuff. This is the best video I have found on how to remove the passenger door panel.

Will let you know how I get on.. If anyone wants to throw in some advise, please feel free.

Regards

Kev

Hi,

Not done anything with it at the moment.. although now its summer and its getting warmer we have found that "sometimes" it opens.

I did take the door trim off and got the module out. checked it over and all was OK with it.. No dry joints anywhere.

My next step is to take the door lock off itself as I have researched that the lower connections often have dry joints. Now its proper summertime and I dont have to drive to work anymore I will be taking the job on one day soon. Will do a full How To, with pictures if I can sort it out.

Before you take the door pad off go into your MMI and look at your settings for central locking and check its not turned off and if off just click and it will work and if it says on then you have a problem.

OK.. Its been 12 months, and I have found the solution to the problem.

Buy a new lock unit.. The existing lock is impossible to repair, and a new one will cost about £150 GBP.

Replacing the unit requires removing door card, window regulator and window.. replacing lock and re-fit window etc.

I found a local audi specialist to fit the part for £50, which I thought is excellent. http://www.tqcstoke.co.uk

The other local audi specialist wanted twice as much labour charge, and have been a bit dishonest. So will be using http://www.tqcstoke.co.uk

for anything Audi that I cannot sort out myself.

Hi

I am new to the club and fairly new to my 2008 A6 and am experiencing the exactly same problem.  Where did you get the replacing door lock that solved your problem and how did you know it was that ? Any further advice before untaking repairs. Regards
