Hi everyone, hopefully someone can shed some light and point me in the right direction, I have a 2002 plate audi a4 estate, 1.9 TDi.

On my way home from work yesterday the oil warning light came on which killed the engine. I free - wheeled the vehicle to the hard shoulder. Thinking as soon as i topped up the oil it would be ok so I walked to a petrol station which luckily for me the walk was under a mile. Once I had topped up the oil I tried to restart the vehicle. The car wouldn't start and eventually I noticed the coil light wasn't lighting up. I got a tow home and had my local garage picked the car up this morning. Even before inspection they mentioned to my partner that it was probably the oil pump which was common and an expensive job. Would the oil pump prevent the coil light from not uliminating?

I have read that another cause could be a coil relay 109 but last night I looked under the dash and in the ECU under the bonnet but to no avail. couldnt find 109.

Hope you can help
