225 / 50 / R16 - is this a proper tire type? What wheels to use?

Hi,

 

I have decided to look for 225/50/R16 tires.

Is this a good size and shall it fit well?  

Does anyone has an experience with this size?

May I use 7,5J ET45 wheels?

 

(my car is 1999 Audi A4 B5 Avant 1.8TQ originally equipped with 205/55/R16)

HI there. Yes they will fit on the original wheel . The difference in rolling circumference is very small. At 60mph the difference between old size & new size is plus .05 mph. Check out will they fit.com .

Sorry ,the difference i stated is for the 7,5J ET45 wheels? If you look at will they fit.com you can calculate any tyre size differences and what it will do to the speedo etc.
