Sandie Posted September 23, 2014 Posted September 23, 2014 Hi. Has anyone ever changed their normal tyres for winter ones ? Someone told me it would still be better. If so which ones would you go for ?
Grant Campbell Posted September 30, 2014 Posted September 30, 2014 Hi Sandie living in the north of Scotland I fitted winter tyres to my Q7 last winter, There was a big improvement in the snow but a much harder drive. I now have a set of wheels with winter tyres and another set with summer tyres.
Sandie Posted October 1, 2014 Author Posted October 1, 2014 Thanks Grant for the response. I think I will have a look into it but just having forked out the best part of £1k for a new set not sure if the budget will stretch to another set for winter ^_^ Will probably save for next year. Where I live in the far South East corner of Kent we get really bad snow and the only way in and out of where I live is up a hill.
JonP50 Posted October 30, 2014 Posted October 30, 2014 Hi newbie, I have an A4 and got a set of Vredestein Wintrac xtreme 4 last year on a set of spare alloys. Didn't have much snow but in the ice and really cold days it was like driving in the summer! I found out about winter tyres by just searching online and found this site http://wintertyrereviews.co.uk/audi-a4-winter-tyres-are-they-a-great-investment/ great advice and I think they have a page for the Q7 Hope it helps and good luck! Jon
