drivers side window not rolling up

Hi all, i currently have an A4 soft top and the drivers side window has stared playing up. When the door is opened the window drops down as it is supposed to but when the door is closed it doesn't roll back up. This has to be done manually via climbing in the passenger side. I took it to the garage and they stripped the door - said they couldn't find anything wrong with the motor or runners etc - i then had the diagnostics run on the car and they told me the Motor needs adjusting ?! I was under the impression the motor cannot be adjusted.... they just advised me to spray silicon spray down the runners as the car may think something is blocking it and telling it not to go back up. 

 

Can anyone shed some light on this for me please as the best course of action to take?
