A4 B8 Dipped headlight fault

Hi, my 2009 A4 with self levelling xenons has started showing dipped headlight fault. Whether on automatic or normal headlight setting, the left side headlight comes on for approx. 1 minute then goes out and the fault message appears. I have found many forums that skirt around the problem, just wondering if anyone has experienced this issue.

I'd be thinking new bulb but first try swapping the bulbs from 1 side to the other if the fault follows the bulb then it's the bulb if not it could be the starter HTH

I've also had intermittent issues on cars with xenons before and often it turns out just to be the bulb.
