Yeti1976 Posted April 17, 2015 Posted April 17, 2015 Hi All I have recently purchased a new Q5 Sline + 177 Tdi with a manual gearbox. I have covered over 900miles and seem to be achieving around 34mpg. The driving has been mixed with approx. 50% cruising on motorways, I have driven it carefully to try to improve the mpg's but to no avail.. Just wondered if anyone else has encountered such poor fuel economy? Appreciate your comments. Many thanks.
Steve Posted April 20, 2015 Posted April 20, 2015 Hi and welcome to Audi Owners club I would wait a few thousand miles to let her loosen up a bit. Also bear in mind that it will always be under what the manufacturer states unless you can run the car in the same testing enviroment
Sensor man Posted January 13, 2016 Posted January 13, 2016 If you want to get better fuel economy, unless you are doing this already, you need to really alter your driving style and use of gears. Driving carefully go no one nowhere fast. A couple of tips: Don't use sequential gear changes 1, 2, 3, 4 and so on, if road conditions allow, use 1, 2 4, 6 (or 5). Get the car into the highest gear as early as possible, so setting off downhill use 2nd not first as your first gear. Believe me I know, I came top in one of the regional heats in the 'Shell 1 litre City challenge'.
