Antonari Posted June 16, 2015 Posted June 16, 2015 Have just spent over £3k on having a new engine bay harness and two injectors as the sunroof drain pipes were blocked up, initially creating a wet footwell. Car just cut out on a busy road, everything died, steering locked, etc, so a very dangerous situation. Took 5 weeks for investigation and parts to be ordered and fitted. Was given the car back on the 4th week only for it to die half a mile after leaving the dealer's forecourt. Audi UK don't see any problem with the sunroof. The sunroof is not an item which is looked at during the regular services. Feels like it should be, if the drain pipes can block and cause so much damage then surely it should be a regular item to check? To have a car rely so much on electrical workings surely means the manufacturer needs to design the car so that water cannot penetrate these important areas...... won't be having a sunroof on the next car (if I buy an Audi again!). Thoughts from anyone, anyone else had a similar issue with their sunroof as its not something Audi or the dealer are aware of?
James Posted June 17, 2015 Posted June 17, 2015 I think you have a strong argument there for an inspection in a regular service, I mean how hard can it be to take a quick look!
