Hi All,

I'm not sure if this is in the correct thread.

The soft touch button on my radio, the one used for skip track, has broken.

Apparently a clip has broken behind the button.

Has anyone else had a similar problem?

Have you been able to repair it?

Thankyou for reading

It's not a common problem that I'm aware of but I could be wrong.

Audi would almost certainly recommend replacing the whole unit as they would say it is not a serviceable part. This would be very expensive unless you are still under warranty?

If you want to have a go at repairing it, then the radio unit will need to be removed from the car and taken apart - quite a fiddly job. The other option would be to look at removing it from the car and finding a repair specialist to send it to.

Hi James, I am under warranty but Audi are currently refusing to replace it under warranty as they say I've broken it using force. This is completely untrue, the fascia confirms this in being unmarked and as new. I'm disappointed and upset by their attitude and stance.

Hmmm, that's not very good do you have a photo of it?

Have you tried going to Audi UK yet or is that just the dealer?

Hi Ian,

Sorry for the delay in replying.

I've just taken a look at the photos in that thread and read through it.

Looks like you've finally had some luck after contacting Andre Konsbruck.... what a result! It's always worth being persistent!

I can't see how they can claim there was an impact without it leaving a mark though....

Are you going to be using a different Audi dealer from now on?

Hi James,

Yes, I finally have a new radio fitted.

Utterly disappointed with my local dealer.  I'm not sure if the way I was treated is Audi policy or my dealers policy but I will be looking elsewhere.

A drive up to Sheffield looks in order for my next service.

Sounds like you may have the right idea going to Sheffield. At least you got your new radio fitted though!  :D
