Dru152
Hi I recently noticed a whistle like sound coming from my engine and power loss on the motorway which prevented me from travelling over 70mph. My car would also struggle if there was a slight Incline while on the motorway and the speed would drop. Also, the engine emissions light came up on the dash board. I took the car to the garage and had the turbo replaced but the power loss issue remains. I purchased a diagnostic tool and found no error codes when I connected it to my car. Any ideas or advice would be much appreciated.
James
Do you still have a whistle sound as that could point to air escaping somewhere and loss of boost pressure?
Dru152
The whistle sound has gone after I had the turbo replaced but the power loss is still there. Drove into work this morning and as soon as I go over 60mph I notice a loss in power and the car doesn't seem to accelerate with any power.. Seems lifeless and just edges higher slowly. James
It could be something to do with fuel delivery... Check the fuel filter, fuel relay, fuel pump, injectors. Probably start with the fuel filter as that's easiest
