mark walsh Posted October 13, 2015 Posted October 13, 2015 Hi. For my next lease car I am looking at an A3 sport back I am looking for real world fuel figures for both these engines. On the 1.4 can you specify if your engine is the COD type or not. Thanks
James Posted October 15, 2015 Posted October 15, 2015 Reports I've seen suggest the following: 1.4 TFSI manual - around 47mpg (45mpg COD) 1.4 TFSI S Tronic - around 41 mpg (44mpg COD) 1.6 TDI manual - around 57 mpg 1.6 TDI S Tronic - 51 - 54 mpg Also bear in mind, not sure if the 1.6 TDI is part of the VW emissions scandal (it may well be) but if it is the software fix may end up changing these figures do the worse. My pick of the bunch would probably be the manual 1.4 TFSI though I'm not really a diesel fan if I'm honest! 1
James Posted October 20, 2015 Posted October 20, 2015 No worries, any ideas what you're going for yet?
TheTtransporter Posted November 29, 2015 Posted November 29, 2015 Hi, I've had my A3 for nearly two weeks and I'm getting between 55-60 MPG from its 1.6 TDI

TheTtransporter Posted November 30, 2015 Posted November 30, 2015 Yes, it's my first Audi & I love it! A drivers car & a proper head turner it is too! Lol

In efficiency mode I get a lot less.....
Able211 Posted March 26, 2016 Posted March 26, 2016 Hi all. Just had my A3, and don't know how to display overall mpg, or journey mpg. The handbook not much help with this. Any advice gratefully received! Graham.
James Posted March 30, 2016 Posted March 30, 2016 It should be in there somewhere Graham - it's usually a little switch on the end of the stalk I think though not 100% on the 2016 A3. Unfortunately I can't check out the owner's manual online as Audi don't publish PDF versions but feel free to post up a few pictures if you want me to take a look? 1
Tiedinknots Posted March 30, 2016 Posted March 30, 2016 Its a thumbwheel on the steering wheel. Left one I think. Turn it and each stat rotates in turn. Pressing the wheel resets the data to zero I have 2.0 Litre Diesel (I84) Quattro with S Tronic, depending on the setting of the car (its has 5 different set up modes) in auto I achieve 54 mpg as an average with 56, a personal best. In sport mode forget MPG, just enjoy the ride. 'Breath taking' for a diesel! 1
Able211 Posted March 31, 2016 Posted March 31, 2016 Thanks for the reply, I can reset mileage OK,but not mpg. So not sure if it's possible.
Tiedinknots Posted April 1, 2016 Posted April 1, 2016 Just in case of stating the obvious, but the mpg read out must be displayed at the same time of pushing the thumb wheel. 1
Able211 Posted April 2, 2016 Posted April 2, 2016 Yes, you're right, thumb wheel on multi function steering wheel. Many thanks for info.
Tiedinknots Posted April 11, 2016 Posted April 11, 2016 Personal best achieved: 58.2 MPG in auto mode, on the MI from Luton Airport to approximately M6 exit last Friday night.
