nathan Posted January 27, 2016 Posted January 27, 2016 Hi all Well im new to this site as Ive just bought a 1999 A4 avant TDI. It is a straight replacement for my late volvo v40 RIP.... Ive got loads of small jobs to do on it like rear calipers, wishbone and new keys (only got the one key no remote) so Im sure im gonna be on here a bit. Ive been reading the threads on aftermarket head units as my volume is stupid either full blown loud or silent.... The question ive got is to do with the rear speakers if ive got the amp on the rears can I not bypass it by cutting the wires on the connector and wiring them into the HU, it would save running new speaker wire through to the back??? Cheers all
James Posted January 29, 2016 Posted January 29, 2016 If I'm not mistaken you can get a special adaptor cable for cars that have a factory amp fitted so you can just plug an aftermarket unit straight in?
nathan Posted January 29, 2016 Author Posted January 29, 2016 Cheers James. Yeah I noticed that but a few threads on here are saying the rear amps arnt up to much so better bypassing
James Posted February 8, 2016 Posted February 8, 2016 Yeah well they are older cars now so not up to modern standards in that department I suppose. Are you wiring the speakers straight from the head unit then?
