Stanley
Good Afternoon. I have just taken the plunge and purchased my first Audi , 2005 Audi A4 1968cc Se Tdi (140). One of the first things I will be looking to do is swap out the audio system. I believe this model has a six 6cd cassette in the glove box? I am not looking for anything too high tech as long as it is compatible with the steering wheel controls. Any tips?
James
You need to see what type of system the car has when you get it. That will give you an idea of what adaptor leads/fascia you need. In terms of after market stuff, my preference would be Pioneer. May as well get something with Bluetooth too.

Stanley
I think the audio systems is the Symphony Sound System ( see attachment) I will contact an Audio Shop in Portsmouth (Sextons) to discuss options unless anyone can recommend another supplier in this area? Another question refers to the phone cassette, should I have this removed or is there a cassette option for HTC smart phones
James
Pretty sure that pre dates smart phones unfortunately I reckon you could get a nice pioneer double din in there and it would look the part. Perhaps look at something with Android Auto if you have an HTC? I'd imagine that place in Portsmouth would be a good start. They should know what they're talking about. Pretty rare to find dedicated car audio specialists these days!

Stanley
Good Morning I had a couple of quotes, one with DAB which long term would make sense but out of my budget. The second was for a Kenwood which seemed to be their preferred supplier? Only a single DIN but would provide a storage space to put phone whilst charging using USB port? http://www.kenwood-electronics.co.uk/car/rec/bluetooth/KDC-BT500U/ i
James
Looks like a reasonable unit I'm sure it would do everything you want. I see this one has front USB - some also have rear USB so you can tuck away your phone/ipod etc in the glovebox or somewhere else.
Stanley
Thank you, I have not taken the plunge yet and recently discovered that the in built blue tooth set up works with my current hand set so no immediate need for any purchase other than to play music via USB or Blue tooth

Does it transfer your phonebook or is it calls only?
