Freeman3030 Posted March 26, 2016 Posted March 26, 2016 Hi, I'm researching for my next car and I adore Audis. My #1 choice is an A3! I've looked around online for answers to my questions but I'm struggling to answer the last few regarding the MMI. If anyone can help it would be much appreciated. 1) can you stream music via Bluetooth? 2) If so, is track info/album artwork displayed? 3) Do you have access to playlists when connected via Bluetooth? 4) Is the navigation easy to use and reliable? 5) from my understanding, there are 2 screen sizes available. Do they have different names to differentiate them? On a BMW you can get business nav or professional nav. I'm struggling when searching to spot which cars have which screen (I'd prefer the larger screen) 6) Do the doors auto lock when you start driving? Please feel free to mention any other pros/cons as any info is much appreciated. Many thanks, James
James Posted March 30, 2016 Posted March 30, 2016 Hi James are you looking at new or used as that will make quite a difference as different features will have been added in different years?
Freeman3030 Posted March 30, 2016 Author Posted March 30, 2016 Thanks for the reply, I'm looking at A3's up to 2 years old.
James Posted March 31, 2016 Posted March 31, 2016 There are several different versions of MMI available - it's worth taking a look here to understand what they do: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Multi_Media_Interface I believe most of the features you are looking for are available depending on the version you get. Not sure that you can access playlists over bluetooth though - I think the device would have to be plugged in for that. I would suggest looking trying the features out when testing a car, to make sure you find one that has everything you want. There's nothing worse than getting a car home and finding it's missing a crucial feature because you didn't check and then finding it's expensive or impossible to retro fit.
