Audinewbie Posted April 3, 2016 Posted April 3, 2016 Hi All Just bought my first ever Audi :) I have a problem, all the doors except the drivers wont open, the car had 6 inch of water in the nearside foot well, due to blocked drains under the battery. Its all dry now, but still the doors wont open I understand that I need a comfort control module that has been damaged by all the water :( Does anyone know a way to open the doors and get to the module? Thanks in advance Audinewbie
Audinewbie Posted April 5, 2016 Author Posted April 5, 2016 Hi James Thanks for the reply. The only door that is operable is the drivers door and that's with the key (using the drivers door lock switch, it will lock on the inside but you need to stick your arm out of the window and operate the key lock) to exit. No light on the led door lock pin. No other door is open able from the inside or outside. The alarm doesn't set or sound No sounds coming from the central locking at all. I bought the car from a friend who left it unattended for a couple of months, when he returned to it, it had 6 inch of water on the passengers side floor which he removed and completely dried the floor, carpet and the module, it worked once after reassembly but has failed to open ever since. I am waiting for a couple of batteries for the fob, but that's a longshot. I am considering using the Stanley on the carpet to get to the module. Any advice is much appreciated. Cheers Phil
James Posted April 6, 2016 Posted April 6, 2016 Hi Phil, Yes I would have thought if it was the key battery the other doors would still lock and unlock with the key. Much more likely to be the module. Hopefully it will be that as otherwise you may find yourself having to cut up all the door cards to get the doors to open.
Audinewbie Posted April 7, 2016 Author Posted April 7, 2016 Hi James Thx for the reply. Yes, I am sure your right about the key & batteries, Just waiting for a couple of batteries before I start doing any cutting. I hoping its not the module, but it would be a miracle if its survived 3 months underwater without a problem. I will try the Stanley knife on the carpet, long before I attack door cards. Cheers Phil
James Posted April 8, 2016 Posted April 8, 2016 Let us know how you get on - hope it doesn't require too much cutting
