Martin
Hi, just joined this forum last week and just bought an a4 se technik 2013 and I am putting my car in for a remap sometime this month and was wondering what people's thoughts are on gutting out the dpf. Is this worth doing? Does anyone have this done or any reasons why I shouldn't. any advice would be appreciated Martin
James
I think they are getting more strict on this when it comes to MOTs now so personally I probably wouldn't anymore
Martin
I was under the impression that they just checked for the presence of one.
James
Have a read of this: http://www.hypermiler.co.uk/dpf-diesel-particulate-filter/will-my-car-fail-its-mot-if-i-have-the-dpf-diesel-particulate-filter-removed-or-gutted Looks like at the moment they can only issue an advisory if it looks like it's been cut open, but apparently they're looking to change it and test for it. Martin
Cheers for that James, interesting read. I might go and have a chat with my mot tester and see what his thoughts are on it.
James
Yeah it's worth thinking about. May be that you can get it through the next couple of MOTs but if the rules change then you may not be able to
