Hi.

I've been giving my car a check over before its MOT.

Bought it last week and have spent everyday until now fixing the engine and loads of wiring for the lights.

MOT is booked in for tomorrow and I've made a horrible discovery.

The last owner has installed some bumper mounted fog lights. Now these do work but only if the full beams are off. Also my headlamps have built in fog lights, which are now inoperable after the wires have all been cut and messed around with to install the bumper lights.

Is this an MOT failure? I know front fogs aren't a requirement but as they're built into the headlamps I'm not so sure.

Hi Rob,

Front fog lights are not tested as part of the MOT so you should be fine.

You just need working sidelights, dipped and full beams at the front. The rear fog light is compulsory though.
