caraitis Posted May 2, 2016 Posted May 2, 2016 hi there AUDI fans and owners! came here for some info... so here it is... thinking to buy new remapped ecu from eBay for my audi a4 2003 1.9tdi b6, i could not find any reviews about these remapped ecu's, so my question is what you guys think abut them? are they good to install to stock engine? are they doing any damage to the engine? and if, how hard can they do? thanks for any answers....
Brucielee Posted May 2, 2016 Posted May 2, 2016 Personally I'd put my money into getting a proper remap, one that sets up your car, buying a pre remapped ecu it's only a generic remap, it can't be that good for the car when the remappers haven't put your car on a computer, whatever your going to pay for it be sure to set some more aside for the possibility of things going wrong, Keep your money and go get a proper remap in my opinion
caraitis Posted May 3, 2016 Author Posted May 3, 2016 thanks. i was thinking that too. so probably i need to find good remapper. any good remaps in NI with price?
Brucielee Posted May 3, 2016 Posted May 3, 2016 There's a few places in NI, what part of the country are you in, autotune, Street racer, torquetronix, there's a revo specialist on the green Road in Bangor, I think torquetronix is the one with a rolling road that sets your car up while running on the rolling road, as for a price, im sure if varies, but your looking in and around 300 for a good one
caraitis Posted May 3, 2016 Author Posted May 3, 2016 great man, thanks for these locations...i suppose they will going to tell if i need to change something after remap, i mean better filter and intercooler and etc... Or just good remap enough?
Brucielee Posted May 3, 2016 Posted May 3, 2016 If your going to remap, get all your mods done first, Anything that's going to do with the running of the engine get it done then get it remapped, if you remap then start changing things it'll more than likely mess around as it won't be set up to deal with modifications, get your airfilter and intercooler etc done beforehand
caraitis Posted May 3, 2016 Author Posted May 3, 2016 yes, probably you are right.. now i just counted what needs to be done and to get all these thing right, i have to make my wallet less heavier:D because some service is coming up soon...timing, pump... at the same time intercooler can be fitted:/ so y, i will spend my weekends at home :))
Brucielee Posted May 3, 2016 Posted May 3, 2016 What else would you be doing lol, weekends are for cars, we all know that lol , keep us up to date with your mods and replacements etc, be good to hear how your getting on
