tonywalker4 Posted June 22, 2016 Posted June 22, 2016 I have an 8month old a3 150 tfsi s-troninic which seems to have developed a chirping noise on driving off between shifting up from 1st to 2nd. As this is my first automatic, I I didn't want to take it back to the dealer if for some reason this is normal. Does anyone have any ideas or had similar? Apart from this I am very happy and love the car. Thanks Tony
Audi Owners Club. Posted June 27, 2016 Posted June 27, 2016 HI Tony...welcome to the Forum! I think I would take the car back to the dealer and enquire whether it is normal for that model and possibly ask to take another one out to compare it? 1
tonywalker4 Posted August 18, 2016 Author Posted August 18, 2016 Just to update on this. As this issue has been intermittent, it has been difficult to diagnose. Finally yesterday my local service centre informed me that the clutch was faulty and required a new clutch repair kit. Although it will be carried out under warranty the cost was £1,500 plus car hire!!!! The car is 11 months old been driven carefully and well looked after and only covered 6,000 miles!! I have booked it in to have the work carried out and have written to Audi to complain as this has come as a real shock as I thought that buying a premium brand car would provide many years of carefree motoring, now I am not so sure. I will keep the group updated. Tony 1
tonywalker4 Posted September 1, 2016 Author Posted September 1, 2016 Just to update, Customer Relations Manager from Audi UK called worse than useless, seems I should count myself as lucky to have the clutch replaced under warranty as it only covers new car for six months or 6,250 miles!!! Makes no difference that mine is automatic and not affected by driving syle. So if it happens again I would have to foot the bill. Very very disappointing after buying what I thought was a premium vehicle. Tony
