D3 A8, best year /model

I will be in the market for a A8 soon , what's the best year / engine up to 2007/8.

All service will be carried  out by a specialist

Well I'm happy enough with my 54 plate 4.0 TDi.

Worth checking the relay for the compressor as a new relay is £15 (or thereabouts) and a new compressor is a lot, lot more.

I am happy with my D3 3.0 Quattro , but worth having a diagnostic done before you buy, watch out for gearbox mount sensors ? Also this model does not have Bluetooth connectivity , the built in phone works well. Regards Dereck
