My other half doesn't drive huge distances so I was thinking that as she's always wanted one it might be a good idea to fulfil that dream.

Any way, I've come across a cheap mk1 with high motorway miles but fsh (18 stamps) new roof, roof motor etc, cam-belt + waterpump.

Would it be worth taking the gamble given that it's not huge sums of money?

Sounds like a good car .... well maintained, motorways miles (always better than round-town miles, I believe), lots of new parts.

Go for it !!!!

Well, the TT isn't pristine but all the paperwork was present with 18 stamps in the book, a new hood and she drove perfectly.

Left a deposit on the basis that they get a new MOT :)

MOT'ed for 12 months and being delivered on Saturday as an early birthday present for my fiancee.

Can't really complain at £1500 but she is definitely going to inflict some damage on me :yahoo:

I would too,i have a red one with red leather for sale but it has 150000 miles on,but serviced regularly, i think the service history is the most important

150000 miles...that's good mileage but as long as it has been maintained correctly it's not really an issue...good luck with the sale Wendy.
