John Devlin Posted July 1, 2016 Posted July 1, 2016 Hello everyone hopefully someone can help me out with my problem. I own a 2008 Audi A4 B8 Automatic 2.0L diesel with 8 speed with tiptronic and just recently im having some trouble with my auto box. Just last week when i was coming up the motorway I lost all gears and had to pull onto the hard shoulder and could go nowhere (there was no loud bangs when this happened) Has anyone else expierenced any problems of this kind? my mechanic has informed me that i cant fit a second hand gearbox into the car due till the way the brain on the car is programmed? and another company is looking £3000 to repair the gear box I currently have. Ive checked transmission fluid level in the gearbox and all is fine. There seems to be alot of play in the drive shaft coming out of the auto box. any help/advice would be appreciated, thanks
Trevor Posted July 6, 2016 Posted July 6, 2016 Hi John...welcome to the Forum! Sorry to hear you've had such a dramatic failure with your Audi. It may be worth rebuilding, but get a quote from a specialist transmission rebuilder as the tooling will be quite specialist and can't be rebuilt without it. Let us know how you get on Regards, Trevor - Admin
