Sphillip79 Posted July 17, 2016 Posted July 17, 2016 hi there just bought a audi a4 avant 1.8t stuttering line quattro. has full audi service history and a clean mot just done with no advisories. also has had the cam belt and water pump changed at 75000 . the car has done 115000. every thing on the car seems fine apart from when I accelerate and then seem to missfire a bit between 3 and 5000 rpm. but if I boot it from first and keep my foot down through the gears it doesn't do it. pls help or advise if anyone can pls . any help much appreciated. thanks.
Trevor Posted July 18, 2016 Posted July 18, 2016 Hi...and welcome to the Forum! The car looks great! Does the fault kick up any warning lamps? Regards Trevor - Admin
Sphillip79 Posted July 18, 2016 Author Posted July 18, 2016 hi and thanks. it came up briefly and then went off. I managed to pull missfire in Clynder 1 off my odb reader?? .
Trevor Posted July 19, 2016 Posted July 19, 2016 I can only guess at number 1 cylinder coil pack failing. Best bet would be to measure the resistance of the suspected faulty one and another cylinder coil to see if there is any difference in the readings....
