Air Conditioning Software Update

Hi Guys,

Had my car in with Audi this morning for the Emissions update (separate topic), cabin filter change and a software update for the Air Conditioning system.

I forgot to ask at the Audi Service Centre, this Air Conditioning software update, what does this actually do?  On the Audi Job Sheet, is states "carried out software update 82B8 update Air Conditioning Unit".

Sorry to ask, just curious.

Maybe it is to lower the emissions by not cycling in and out so much around idle speed...possibly?

I've just bought a car with this issue. I'm told that the patch they will eventually offer may simply delete the code which instructs the engine readouts to lie. It won't affect performance. But its all black magic and smoke and mirrors so who knows?

Cheers guys, I was just curious.  I wasn't aware that the Air Con system required computer updates.  You learn something new everyday.
