MARTYNH Posted September 6, 2016 Posted September 6, 2016 Hello i am new to this , I have a 2007 2.0 tdi 170 bhp quatro have had this car from 3 months old no problems at all until the last 6 weeks the tick over goes from 800 to 1000 rpm , the car seems to be hesitant before it happens and i think when i shut the engine off 9 out of 10 it seems to clear it until the next time ? Once it has cleared it's back to the old car . I hope someone can help ?
Audi Owners Club. Posted September 6, 2016 Posted September 6, 2016 Hi Martyn...welcome to the Forum I would imagine it just needs a clear out. Would advise running a cleaning additive through the engine and use each time you fuel up until it clears itself...generally works a treat. Let us know how you get on with it Cheers Trevor
MARTYNH Posted September 6, 2016 Author Posted September 6, 2016 Hi Trevor.... thanks i have used a cat clean is that the same thing . do you think it's a dirty fuel problem ?
Audi Owners Club. Posted September 6, 2016 Posted September 6, 2016 Unlikely to be dirty fuel but I would advise putting quality fuel (BP, Esso, Shell) into the tank for a period as not a lot more expensive than the supermarket fuel at the moment The cleaning additive I would use is either the Halfords own (which works surprisingly well) or something like Wynns or STP where you just add it to the fuel to clean injectors, EGR, etc.
MARTYNH Posted September 6, 2016 Author Posted September 6, 2016 Cheers will give it a go. Is Forte any good as a local motor factor sells it which is 2 minute from where i work .
Audi Owners Club. Posted September 6, 2016 Posted September 6, 2016 Yes Forte are very good...give it a try
