So, what else do you guys also drive or ride ?

Any other makes or just Audi ?

Anyone ride a Motorbike or drive an interesting 'fun' car ?

I'll start then...

Audi A4 for the daily driver...nothing special but does the job

BMW Z3...got written off & paid out so owes me nothing so great to keep in the garage and take out on nice days for a spirited drive

BMW GS1200 motorbike....for the days when you really need to escape

4 wheel drive campervan (demountable) don't use it as often as I should really

Mazda MX5 mk1....just got it back on the road for a track day :yahoo:

All the above, I'm sure represent a mid-life crisis....but I'm not complaining

Audi A4 B7 Convertible for enjoying the sunshine.

Great choice of vehicles there Simon....do you use the A4 Cab in the winter as well?

I find the Z3 has a great heater and it's fun to take out on a cold but sunny winters day as long as it's dry

Hi, just recently took the plunge and got back into biking with a Honda NC750S. Went for a test ride and fell in love,  it's the model with the auto box that works just like the DSG in Audi's, and if you've never driven  (or ridden) a car or bike and are thinking of it,  DO IT they're brilliant  (the gearboxes that is)

Love riding my bike,  even in the cold weather.

Never tried an auto version and I know Yamaha did the FJ with an autobox option.

Does it take a bit of getting used to?

I have my A7 which has problems as I have reported on the A7 forum , but also have an Audi Q5 S Line Plus which is wonderful. This is my second Q5 and may look to the new Q5 released next year.

It's such a shame that the A7 is giving you problems yet the Q5 isn't...maybe best to swap out the A7 for another Q5 then?

Hi Trevor, don't know how other bikes are with auto boxes having never riden an auto bike before but the Honda is so easy. I was a bit sceptical as I was when I first bought an Audi with the DSG gearbox  (a3 3.2) but the Honda works exactly the same. It does feel strange at first and the odd time I still go for the clutch and my left foot wants to go for the gears. The Honda feels slightly under revved, the engine feels labouring slightly and that the revs need to be bit higher but just like my Audi, you can put it in s (sport) mode which brings the revs higher  (above 2k) or you can put it in manual mode and change gear with little levers on the handlebar, just like paddle shift on an audi.

I have an a4 cab but unfortunately these don't have a DSG which is a shame but I'm on my second DSG, the first with my a3 3.2 and now with my a1. No doubt you can tell now that I'm a massive fan of the DSG gearboxes!  😊

I think the DSG principle is awesome, but sometimes the execution isn't so hot.  Reliability issues for manufacturers are a problem but more recently they are resolving the faults with modification kits.

I think I'll stick to a manual change on a bike....old habits die hard as they say.

Agree with that. :thumbup1:  Heated grips help but once the salt gets chucked about the bike stays in the garage.  The roads just get so slippery/greasy with the stuff and it totally strips your chain of any lube protection and goes rusty in next to no time.  Not so much of a problem for yours though as shaft drive I think. :wink3:

That is a benefit with shaft drive I suppose...and heated grips

I always leave my bikes outside all year with no cover, but they don't seem to degrade, quite a lot air circulating around them I guess.

As well as my A4 I have a jag s type its off the road comfy but hopeless and just got rid of the ninja so saving for next bike.
