Trevor Posted September 19, 2016 Posted September 19, 2016 Hi Charlotte...welcome to the Forum Could you post a picture of the prongs up here so we can see them and go from there. Cheers Trevor
charlotte Posted October 4, 2016 Author Posted October 4, 2016 thankyou for getting back to me trevor and sorry for the delay here is a few pics ive just taken i have tried with a dremmel but found the machine didnt have top speed to cut thru them as you can see from the pics the prongs are factory fitted inside the boxed sides of the roof so unable to remove from inside please please help me guys xx
Trevor Posted October 5, 2016 Posted October 5, 2016 I can only imagine that the prongs are connected through the roof with a nut under the headlining. Trouble is then, how do you plug the holes left in the roof?
charlotte Posted October 6, 2016 Author Posted October 6, 2016 no the prongs are inside the box section or the roof i have had the roof lining completely out as i had it re wraped profesionaly and there is no acces to the prongs so can only imagine there are fixed in place and as for the holes i will have them body filled and painted to match the car so you will never even know there was holes there the thing is the audi 80 is such a better car but it does carry the traits of the a4 so why not be different i say i have only ever seen this done once on a uadi 80 and that was in germany when i lived and worked there for a vw specialist but thanks for getting back to me charlotte x
Trevor Posted October 7, 2016 Posted October 7, 2016 Just a thought but do they unscrew as there looks like a flat edge on the lower part of the prong? If not, I suppose you could grind saw them off almost flush then grind back what's left.
