Febe Posted October 20, 2016 Posted October 20, 2016 Hi all, I am the very proud owner of a 2010, A3 Sportback, 8p. 2lt tdi. Left-hand drive. New to me. Purchased in Germany. Confused! With the lights on dip beam I push the lever away from me once for main beam. To get back to dip beam I have to pull the lever twice. Is this correct or should it be sprung loaded back to the centre position? Edited to say it has DRL, not automatic lights. Also I live half a kilometer up a non tarmaced road. When driving up it a night with main beam on, the light shudders side to side? Many thanks, regards Febe
Audi Owners Club. Posted October 21, 2016 Posted October 21, 2016 Hi Febe...welcome to the Forum I'm not too sure about the A3 light switching but normally it should be straight back for convenience and safety as you don't want to be messing around trying to switch off main beam when a car approaches. I wonder if anyone else has this issue or maybe it is normal for a LHD vehicle (although can't imagine why)? As regards the lights shuddering, I believe I have read on here somewhere about loose light fittings so it may be worth checking to see if the light units and bulbs are physically secure in the housings. Hope the weather's nice and warm in Spain and it's getting quite cold here now. Cheers Trevor
Febe Posted October 21, 2016 Author Posted October 21, 2016 Hi Trevor, Thanks for the reply. I'll pop into an Audi dealer and ask them. Weather is lovely during the day but does drop a little cold at night. We are in Northern Spain. Take care, regards, Fiona 1
