Colmich1 Posted October 27, 2016 Posted October 27, 2016 Hi, I have a problem with my A4 2.0 TDI 2008 Automatic. I have had the car since January this year never missed a beat, few weeks ago it just cut out and would not start again, Had it took to my local garage who got auto electrician out who first said it was a injector, then said it was a fuel pump under drivers seat so he put a new one on, still would not Start, then he said it was high pressure fuel pump which we they did not replace yet as I lost faith in them and got it back home. But they said they have had it running by spraying quick start in air intake.. another mechanic who brought car back had a quick look and also had it running again with quick start even took it for run down road said it ran sweet as a nut. But again one it was stopped would not start again. I'm banging my head against the wall馃樀 the only other thing I know is a couple of times since I've had the car when I tanked it up It was showing empty on gauge, someone told me to take fuse out for instrument cluster and put it back which worked. Any advice will be very much appreciated Thanks
Audi Owners Club. Posted November 3, 2016 Posted November 3, 2016 Hi Colin...welcome to the Forum It seems like a lot of guesswork has been taking place so far....the only way forward is by using proper diagnostic tests (does it fuel, air going in/out the engine, fault codes, wrong fuel, etc) I would definitely entrust a VAG specialist in your area to look at it logically. Fault codes would be a good place to start. Looking at the Fuel Filter housing / supply to see what fuel it is drawing up (if any) is another good place to start with. Let us know how you get on with it Cheers 聽Trevor
