Trevor
Hi Jason....welcome to the Forum Generally, the 2.0 TFSI engine is quite good if its maintained correctly and driven properly by the previous owner(s). What problems are you having with it? Cheers Trevor
Jaymjm
Thanks for the reply Trevor the problem I have is because the car is auto/tiptronic I accelarated on the motorway when it kicked down the engine management light came on.and there is no power at all.I had the car read and it came up low pressure fuel rail I've been told all sorts from new top of engine to cam wear to scrap it lol I just don't know what to do ? Jaymjm
I had the code cleared yesterday and drove the car around town most of the day with no engine light coming back on until I overtook a car and put my foot down light straight back on and no power
Trevor
It sounds very much like one of three things 1. Fuel filter and/or housing could be drawing air .... down to poor fitting, poor quality filter or defective filter assembly. Definitely worth checking first. 2. More than often with modern variable vane turbochargers, the vanes stick with carbon build-up from driving around towns and not really working the turbo...that is until you go to accelerate on a motorway and the vanes are stuck, hence the EML comes up and no power until you reset. The best way around this it to clean it with a specialist cleaning solution and then once up and running properly, to drive it in a lower gear and take onto motorway blasts every so often. If all else fails and you know it is definitely the turbo vanes at fault then you could replace the cartridge unit within the turbo for not a lot of money. 3. Sometimes the Wastegate Valve can go faulty or the vacuum hose to it is split which can also have the same symptoms but you should be able to swap it over with another one in the engine bay which is identical to determine this. Found it doesn't usually make much of a difference though.
