potatopotato Posted November 16, 2016 Posted November 16, 2016 Hey, I've just bought an A3 for my girlfriend for Christmas so I'm spending these coming weeks tidying it up a bit. It's a 1.9 TDI with a pretty strong spec, can't think of an option it doesn't have other than xenons (if this was an option at the time). Anyway, I drive an E46 BMW and the wheel controls are really strongly lit, whereas when driving the A3 at night I found myself flicking the interior light on to see what button did which. Are these meant to be lit, if so is there an easy way of getting to the lights to change? It's the four spoke older style wheel with the larger airbag if that helps. Thanks.
Audi Owners Club. Posted November 22, 2016 Posted November 22, 2016 Hi Michael...welcome to the Forum I don't believe it does illuminate from memory but it would probably be a case of removing the airbag to find out if there is a bulb within the switch. Let us know what you find Cheers Trevor
potatopotato Posted January 3, 2017 Author Posted January 3, 2017 Just to update this in case anyone else searches for it, the buttons do illuminate and it was a loose wire which wobbled to fixed mode once the wheel was adjusted around a bit. 1
