My car starts then stops stright away

My a4 deisel just had cam belt and waterpump changed they had the car running for a while check every thing is allright took for a test drive everything ok, went to pick up the car it starts then cuts out stright away and dash says something about my stopstart failing start the engine another way,there is a orange light on the dash like a curly thing. Garage is now closed untill monday they have lent me a car so Ican go to work (my stop/start didn't always kick in don't know if this has got anything to do with it) has any body else had this problem?
