V15NEV Posted January 1, 2017 Posted January 1, 2017 Hi everyone, I'm new to the forum and have had a breif search but I'm pretty desperate :( My A4 decided today that it would stop without warning all of a sudden on a slip road meaning a van had to swerve to miss me and scraped right up the side but that's a secondary issue. The main issue is my engine... 2.0L TDI 140 AUTO - i can start the car as normal, no issues - I have no warning lights, the car does not overheat and the oil level is OK - I can engage all gears but the car will NOT free roll in neutral and when I put in D or R it will rev to 2000 then the power dips down to 1000 - electric handbrake is OFF - when in N the car will rev steady but only to around 2000 which leads me to believe it may have gone into limp mode? - main issue is that the wheels will just not move! Milaege is 90K with regular services, last one was September. Im just waiting for green flag but any advise for when I get it to a garage would be appreciated. Thanks Simon
Audi Owners Club. Posted January 3, 2017 Posted January 3, 2017 A very odd fault indeed! Have you found out what the potential cause/fault is yet?
V15NEV Posted January 3, 2017 Author Posted January 3, 2017 My local garage believe it is a gearbox issue related to the diff??? They are not capable of fixing the issue so have recommended an Audi Specialist called Boardman Bros in Failsworth Manchester. I'm going to get it to them and hopefully get a decent diagnosis...
Audi Owners Club. Posted January 3, 2017 Posted January 3, 2017 Fingers crossed it's a cheap one to resolve
