hi I'm new to this, I have a A4 auto on a 10 plate, when I set off on a steep hill my car jutters and jumps, or when I turn my wheel and set off, I've changed my gearbox and it's still the same, has anyone else had the problem or knows what it could be

thanks

Hi Raf

I would suggest getting it into Audi or Audi Specialist to get the codes read. this would be your best bet, people may be able to come up with different problems but it is like finding a needle in a haystack that way.

Hope that helps :)

Hi Raf...welcome to the Forum

I totally agree with Brad-B5...it is so difficult to tell what it is without proper diagnosis being carried out first.

In addition to fault codes (if any) live data should be captured to see what is 'glitching' at the time it is juddering.

Keep us updated with what you find

Cheers  Trevor

I too agree with Brad and Trevor's advice with this, but it might be worth considering having this car on a wheels-free ramp and running this through the gears and on and off lock. This might, just might show up something, but I am conscious that this does not replicate an under-load situation. Obviously observe all the safety requirements.

Incidentally, who pointed you to a need to change the gearbox?

Kind regards,

Gareth.
