Brad-B5 Posted January 17, 2017 Posted January 17, 2017 Hey all, As you may know that the law is changing on the 1st of April with car tax and new car's will be affected by this, some paying hundred's or even thousand's more (after 1st of April) than when a new car is bought now (Before 1st of April). I want to know your thought's on this and if you're going to benefit from the change (pay less road tax) or worse off. NOTE: The change will affect anyone buying a new car from April this year. Audi Owners Club. Posted January 18, 2017 Posted January 18, 2017 It's rather strange to see that Hybrids have gone up with the new laws...thought they would be keen to keep the cost down to encourage people to buy Hybrid?
Brad-B5 Posted January 18, 2017 Author Posted January 18, 2017 Exactly but they see it as loosing money because more people are going to be buying hybrids and one day almost everyone will have a hybrid or electric car , the government see it as a way of getting more money, well, that's what it comes across to me. :/
Audi Owners Club. Posted January 18, 2017 Posted January 18, 2017 seems about right! always comes back to revenue for the Government and not for the good of the people :-(
Brad-B5 Posted January 18, 2017 Author Posted January 18, 2017 Yup, they have enticed enough people now that when they start paying road tax they will have millions more come in now. Think they had this planned for a long time! 1
Adamski Posted January 27, 2017 Posted January 27, 2017 Its exactly like you've said. The current plan just isn't sustainable for them as a revenue stream with the new cars being either free or such low cost tax per year. So they're doing this to keep getting the money in. 1
Juggati Posted January 28, 2017 Posted January 28, 2017 They really need to stop calling it emissions tests as they cannot hide behind being good for the environment anymore! 1
