lspoor Posted January 24, 2017 Posted January 24, 2017 Just got my new 2.0 TDI S-Line and need to get my dash cam installed asap! It's a Nextbase 312gw and I have the nextbase hardwire kit too. Is it easy to hide the wiring away and what fuse is best to attach the dashcam too?
Brad-B5 Posted January 25, 2017 Posted January 25, 2017 Hi Luke Welcome to the forum :D Yes should be easy just hide the cables in crevasses like the gap between the window and pillars ect and I'm not sure about the fuse, sorry ;( Regards Bradley
Trevor Posted January 25, 2017 Posted January 25, 2017 Hi Luke...welcome to the Forum Here is a link to an article I wrote for the Nextbase Hard Wire Kit http://www.drivn.co.uk/nextbase-dash-cam-hardwire-kit/ and also a review of the 412GW which gives some info which may be applicable to the 312GW http://www.drivn.co.uk/nextbase-412gw-dash-cam-review/ The fuse you use is the one that is the same size as you remove, just make sure it is for an ignition fed component (such as heated seat, etc) Cheers Trevor

I did have it installed using the kit in my previous car but I need to find out which fuse I can piggyback and where the fusebox actually is in the Audi? Which fuse did you piggyback?
Trevor Posted January 30, 2017 Posted January 30, 2017 I wired the dash cam kit into my Honda CRV so completely different but fuse wise, I would possibly go into the folding mirrors or something that is ignition switched. Open the passenger door and look at the end of the dashboard there should be a panel there with the fusebox inside
