jukes1981 Posted March 3, 2017 Posted March 3, 2017 Hi Guys Newbie nice to meet you all, just need some advice please. Im a previous A4 2.0 tdi owner but somebody drove into the side of me and my car is now written off. Im looking for a AUDI A6 but not sure on engine. What do people recommend and im happy with diesel or petrol as I don't do many mile. Preferably not the 2.0tdi as I had nothing but issues with mine in the A4. Looking for 2005-2008 models as only have upto £5500 Thanks Dom
Brad-B5 Posted March 3, 2017 Posted March 3, 2017 Hi Dom Welcome to the forum! what year was your A4 :( hope you and anyone else involved was okay. I think you Know what you want; You don't want a 2L you have your price range you have your model years so a 3L 2008? Regards Bradley
jukes1981 Posted March 3, 2017 Author Posted March 3, 2017 Hi Just myself driving to work brand new BMW pulled out on me and car was a total write off. It was 2005 2.0tdi but had so many engine issues its kinda put me off that engine. Ive seen around so many variants of engine both diesel and petrol and wondered whats the best engine to go for? I have upto £5500... Sorry don't have a car at mo as need to buy one when my insurance money arrives next week. Thanks Dom
Brad-B5 Posted March 3, 2017 Posted March 3, 2017 Oh dear :( I personally think it's down to personal preference , so so whats the "best" you can get with your budget, if you're wondering go to the A6 part of the forum and ask what people prefer also you can look through issues too :) Regards Bradley
Trevor Posted March 6, 2017 Posted March 6, 2017 Hi Dom...welcome to the Forum I would personally go for the Petrol engine as if you don't do many miles then the Diesel will more than likely clog up with driving it around locally. As Bradley has recommended the 3.0litre...it would probably be the best choice and also the most fun to drive. Let us know how you get on with finding your replacement Audi. Cheers Trevor
