Doog1000r Posted March 7, 2017 Posted March 7, 2017 My Audi A6 avant 58 plate fuel gauge sometimes fails for days and will work for days !! Where are the fuel senders located my garage removed the bench seat and said there was only one plate and nothing underneath so I have been led to believe the connectors may have corroded any help is appreciated pref with pics thanks in advance
Trevor Posted March 13, 2017 Posted March 13, 2017 If they are not underneath the seats (either side if it is a saddle tank) then it may well be on the side under the wheel arch area?
Josh.RS Posted March 22, 2017 Posted March 22, 2017 Get it checked properly, the fuel senders are under the rear bench seat, they are built into the in-tank pump unit. If you have a front wheel drive A6 it will be on the drivers side, if it's a quattro, there will be a pump unit on each side.
niedzial1983 Posted April 24, 2017 Posted April 24, 2017 Had same issue. Fixed myself by taking rear bench out . Taking sensors out and reconecting all plugs . Quattro has 2 senders on each side. Also there is TBS in this . Just google
Dan3222 Posted June 3, 2017 Posted June 3, 2017 Doug, did you get this sorted? Had my first experience of the fuel gauge not working today, plus it has never gone above 3/4 full reading even though it has been brimmed with fuel.
Doog1000r Posted June 4, 2017 Author Posted June 4, 2017 Hi bud I did, I took mine to a local audi specialist who ordered in a repair kit apparently it's a wiring corrosion problem the repair kit was £21 fitting was £80 but still cheaper than buying a new sender from audi 1
Dan3222 Posted June 4, 2017 Posted June 4, 2017 Do you know by any chance what the repair kit is? I fancy trying this myself.
