Hi Graeme

Have you got a diag, are you guesses it's the gear box? so you loose power at high speed and higher revs?

This could be a turbo issue ( http://www.ebay.com.au/gds/Signs-That-Your-Turbo-Is-Failing-/10000000204969079/g.html) , so it could be going to limp mode ( https://www.google.co.uk/webhp?sourceid=chrome-instant&ion=1&espv=2&ie=UTF-8#q=limp+home+mode )

Hope this helps and report back :)

Hi Bradley thanks for input but it's definitely not turbo or engine related I had air flow monitor changed as garage thought that could be air intake issue that did help performance of car but not that problem. The problem is no fault codes coming up on diagnostics so going for transmission oil and filter change as supposed to be done every 40k and looks like not been done for 5 years I've only had car 2.

Many thanks and I'll post results of oil change once done next week

Best wishes Graeme

I agree with Brad-B5 about the turbo diagnosis...generally, the power flat lines but doesn't always throw up a warning lamp or codes.

reset the ignition and off it goes again until it gets past that threshold again.

Its down to sticking turbo vanes and can be cleaned out to cure it

Hi guys just had my mate round with his wee hand held mac diagnostic tool plugged it in and fault codes P0234 saying something about engine boost but we deleted fault codes and believe it or not problem solved cars fine  I know the air monitor was changed and a hose was blocked to intercooler maybe fault was still there because codes weren't cleared. Anyway delighted that it's solved and touch wood stays fixed
