Hoggy1972 Posted April 28, 2017 Posted April 28, 2017 Hi, I have a 2006 Allroad 3.0 and i've just had an MOT failure on 'Parking Brake: Efficiency below requirements'. The car has recently (Jan '17) had a new set of pads and discs on the rear. Anyone have any idea what could be the problem?. As its an electronic parking brake, its not adjustable, its either ON or OFF, so i'm a bit stumped as to what the problem might be. Any help greatly received Tim
Dan3222 Posted April 28, 2017 Posted April 28, 2017 How long ago did you have new pads fitted? Although with new discs there shouldn't have been a problem with them settling in really. While you are right that there is only an on off function like on my two main vehicles. Both of them have an adjuster where each (left and right) cable is linked, near the actuator. My guess is that it will be either a 10 or 12mm nut. Probably need a bit of penetrating fluid on it to get it moving. It will need tightening slightly Can you not ask garage to adjust it up a bit for you or let you do it while it's on the ramps?
